We are excited to provide our registered patients with a secure online booking system to make an appointment with their family physician. The appointment booking chat takes under 5 minutes to complete and allows patients to describe their symptoms in detail and select multiple appointment dates and times that would best fit their schedule.

Please note that walk-in or urgent same-day appointments cannot be booked using this feature.

Appointment Reminders and Patient Messaging

Patients will receive automated text messages with appointment booking notifications and reminders through Mikata Health. Our staff may also utilize secure one-way patient communication to forward a message or a document, such as a requisition or a diagnostic report. All messages containing personal and sensitive health information are protected by a security prompt to enter the patient’s Alberta Health Card Number or date of birth.

Mika AI Scribe

Introducing Mika

In order to lighten the workload of our physicians, our clinic has implemented a new feature - Mika, an AI-based medical scribe. Mika works by ambiently listening to your appointment with your physician through a microphone. After the appointment, Mika generates a complete chart note from the transcript for your provider to review. This feature helps your family physician spend more of their time with their patients, rather than writing a chart note during an appointment.

Privacy and security assured with Mika

Mika follows all privacy and security legislation in Canada, and it does not make or keep any audio recordings of your appointment. The transcribed information is only available to your health care provider. Our staff and providers will always ask for your consent to use this feature, which you may withdraw at any time.
